5-Day Club

This summer's team of Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) from Child Evangelism Fellowship came down from Citrus County and held a 5-Day Club at Mrs. B's Daycare in conjunction with the Good News Club team of Hope Church during the week of July 9-13, 2018.  There were 17 children who heard the Gospel presented each day through stories such as Zaccheus, Philip and the Ethiopian, etc.  There were games, songs, memory verse activities, prizes, and missionary stories.  The people leading all of these activities were not the adults, but the teenagers trained through CYIA.  They spent weeks in training, learning the stories by heart.  Now they are spending weeks of their summer presenting these stories to children all through Citrus and Hernando Counties.  They did a wonderful job, and through their efforts 12 children came to faith and trust in Jesus as their Savior!  That was just at our venue – there have been more at the other places they have taught this summer.  What an answer to months or prayer preparation!

Men’s Breakfast

Our MOFIA Breakfast (Men of Faith in Action) was well-attended on Saturday, June 2, 2018.  There were 30 in attendance including several visitors; and we had the privilege of hearing the testimony of Mr. Reyes Moran from the Centro de la Familia Church.  Rey is a retired police officer from the Chicago Police Department.  He served in very difficult roles for many years working in the Gangs Division.  He also spoke about how important fathers are in the lives of their children, and how important it is for fathers to rely on God with a whole heart.

Mother’s Day Tea

Saturday morning, May 12, 2018, sixty women had a wonderful time together, enjoying a Mother's Day Tea.  Baby quilts made by our Alliance Women adorned the walls, and beautiful tea cups and saucers and teapots that were loaned by the ladies of Hope Church, made the tables look very festive.  At each place setting there was quiche and a felt teapot party favor which held a couple teabags.  There were also three-tiered stands to hold the finger sandwiches and later the cookies, cakes and scones.  Four types of decaffeinated teas were available at each table – English Breakfast, Constant Comment, Apricot Arabesque, and Chai – so we could have cups of each one.  There was a hostess for each table that saw to the refilling of of the stands, and we all had fun talking and getting to know one another.

We were very happy to have so many visitors with us:  mothers and daughters from Good News Club at J.D. Floyd Elementary, Good News Club team members, as well as daughters of women from Hope Church.  Many hoped that this would become an annual event.  If you were not able to come this year, perhaps you can put it on your schedule for 2019.
